Man my fuel bill is going nut

I know one thing I hate to drive my truck anymore. Its costing me a fortune. I put $50.00 in my tank the other day an was only half full. Used to fill it for that two years ago. Getting redicualous really. So are you guys noticing the same thing. I no one thing thse fuel companies are making a killing at these prices. And off course everything you buy in the stores goes up as well. Looks like to me the economy is headed for big trouble. Maybe some day we will have 40 MPG trucks instead off 10-15 MPG. Only we can only dream I guess. Will see.

You know....pretty funny when you think about it. Look at the old 6.9L diesel.....my buddy's gpa has one and gets 20+ from it pretty easily. Look at the new Dodges (yea....I know).....dad's 07 with MDS gets what I get with all 8 cylinders. Are the auto manufacturers really trying to get better mileage? Seems to me they can do it.....if they want to. When dad drives ol blue he can get 10-11 with it (I can't seem to drive it that nice). That's a built 390, 4 barrel carb, 3 speed auto, somewhat deep rear ends (3.54's).........I'd like to think I could get 13-14 with that if I tuned it better, changed the gearing a bit, and drove nice....

Rant off!

The other day I was talikng to a guy that had a GEO tracker or some such name. He said. Its a compact 4wd. Looks similar to VW bug only 4wd. Only gets 23 MPG with that thing. I said if thats all you can get with that thing Ill stick to my big superduty. It gets about 17-18 most times on how I drive it. I think we deserve better mileage.

Yea....maybe it wouldn't be so bad. I'm only 18, but I remember when $0.99 for gas was getting a bit high......we've basically increased two whole dollars in what.....10 years maybe?

That's why I kep the '97 when I bought the SuperDuty. It has a ton of miles on it (187,000) but it runs great, I haven't had to put very much at all, money wise, into it, and it gets okay mileage. I'd probably get an older Taurus if I was to get rid of Red. If for no other reason, I'd never be able to park Black downtown, being it's 22 feet long!

Well now that's what you get for living in a big city. Around here all that happens is other people talk bad about you when they're trying to find a place to park and some joker like me is taking up 6 spots (did it at Wendy's in Central City......they weren't busy don't worry.......imagine what I could do with a trailer )

get an old ford and be happy, cars are cheaper on gas but funerals are more expensive.

8 maybe 9 mpg in my 69 (if I keep my foot out of it - NOT) - $30 in gas a week back and forth to work - $1600 in gas a year - at least one complement a week on the truck - Priceless!
