stock vs. aftermarket ignition setup.

As some of you have read in other posts here is what I've got.

1991 F-250HD Flatbed 4x4, C-6, 460-4V 4.10gears
Here is what I have in the motor

Headers
750 Carter Carb.
Performer Intake
Aluminum Roller Rockers
Mild Cam (1000-5500rpm)
Keith Black (.030) 10:1 Flattops
CJ connecting rods, and everything is balanced

Here is my question I have an entire Jacobs Ultra Team Ignition setup NIB that I was going to use on my Jeep. I would like to know what kind of Hp/Tq gains I might see out of this vs. stock ignition.:-)

None.
Aftermarket ignition do good work for igniting fuel under tough conditions, but despite claims, they make no power. Ther however provide a solid reliable spark.

phantom429 is correct. the only thing they provide is a more reliable and a more effeciant spark. but if you have a stock ignition that is not working properly and you upgrade to msd, er jacobs er somethin of the sort you will notice an improvement just because it is workin properly. same goes with stock ignition.

I've got the Jacobs Ultra on my 94 F250. 460 with Fuel injection. I wish I could say that the ignition made a huge difference, but I can't. There was a slight, and I mean slight, addition of seat of the pants torque. Slight, and I mean slight, increase in fuel mileage(went up to 9mpg!) However, if you have the thing, you might as well run it - you can leave the stock coil and etc on the truck as a back up ignition... I know it's a stretch, but I had to justify buying it!
