battery charger mod.
Heres one for you guys. Tj hope your not mad but I already got that block heat mod with a twist. Go to sears the sell a 12v onboard battery charger it mounts under the hood near the battery the two wires go to the battery( color coded too!) I cut the plug off the charger and the block heater and wired together and ran the wires into a plastic electrical box mounted under the battery on drivers side from there I ran the wire out of the box the the drivers side of the bumper where I have mount an RV plug receptacle now when my truck gets pluged in it charges the batterys and heats the block even on a timer it makes a huge difference. I don ' t have pics yet I will try and get them up soon seeing is how I also got laid off today so I have lots of free time. I also ran a small L.E.D. off the power wires and put it on the dash so I know that it has power when plugged in not required but nice to know that the block heater and charger are getting power by looking out the window!( My son loves to unplug things!lol!)

Just curious, why would you charge the battery that often?

This charger you got from Sears....is it a small "Float Charger" that will shut down when the batteries are fully charged?

Thats a great idea especially for those in really cold areas that have short runs to make. My dad would drive his 03 form the house to the shop(300 yards) and it he did that for a few days the batteries would get weak enough to have a hard starting truck.

ya it shuts down when fully charged i love it when you work on your truck and are always starting it moving it and shuting it down when doing mods. tire changes, etc. The nice part is you can work on the truck and keep the radio on and not worry about the batterys dieing 4 or 5 hours later( I know i have been there lol)

Sounds more like a battery tender, not a charger.
I throw a battery tender on the motorcycle in the winter time. Keeps the battery alive in the cold.
