Hey Im from Nebraska an was just curious if anybody up here is from Dearborn. The reason Im asking is I would I love to go see the home off my beloved Ford Motor Company. Go the Henry Ford museum. Maybe take some tours an such. So have you guys done this was it a good tour. I know everybody probably takes it for granted since you live up there. I dont know when Ill do this but would like to do it once in my lifetime for sure. I was also wondering if theres a place up there I could see all the different model cars an trucks Ford made in the last 105 years. Thats a tall order I know but would just love to see it. Thanks for any replies in advanced. As usual.
I went to the henry ford museum ... 9 years ago. I really loved it. I would love to go back, but i'm more fasinated by the old steam machinery and trains. hahaha. There are some awesome things there, though I don't think the museum has the best upkeep it could have.
As for the different cars and trucks for the centuries, i'm not quite sure on that.
There are quite a few cars in the museum but far from the last 100 years' worth of modles. that would be a lot of vehicles, but... i duno.
They have some neat concept cars there though.

Woo must be a slow day in Michigan land. Nobody from Dearborn online I guess. Anybody else want to reply feel free to respond. Any other museum where they have a bunch off Ford vehicles on display? Thanks for the input. Maybe tonight will be more people online hopefully.
"DearbornDerek" is from Dearborn, obvisouly although now that i think about i dont think i have seen him around this chapter and it just now occured to me that he lived in Michigan.
I haven't been to the Museum in a while, so I don't remember all of the cars and such that was in there. I haven't taken the Rouge plant tour yet either. I don't think there's a way to tour Dearborn Truck that I'm aware of. Maybe they do an open house? Wayne Assembly does, or did. My dad still works at Wayne, but I don't remember hearing about an open house this year yet.
The Rouge tour IS a tour of Dearborn Truck. Dearborn Truck is inside the Rouge complex.
I don't know of any museum that has a sample of everything Ford has produced. The Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village are worth spending a couple weekends exploring. See it here: http://www.thehenryford.com/

We have 15ish active members, and about 150 on the roster..
where is my whip.
What message? How are you sending it? I have no email from you; no pm. I do see the post about a gathering, which I cannot attend.
My experience with other forums (Jeeps, off-roaders, book groups) would suggest that 10 percent (15 people out of 150) showing up at an event organized on an online forum ain't all that bad...lots of people join a group for discussion purposes, not as a club. But I'm a little confused...first you said you sent a message to 1600, then that there are 150 on the "roster." A lot of internet providers will block someone trying to send the same message to 1600 people...it looks like spam. Some providers would block a message to 150 recipients, too.
well i work at michigan truck and theres not an open house yet till like feburary or april im hearing different stuff and how do u join the chapter????
I work in Dearborn, and live near dearborn. I've been to the Henry Ford Museum which is very cool, I never took the f-150 tour. If there are people in michigan like me, the reason they haven't gone is because they don't have the time or money right now. I'm new on here but im fixing up my truck I really don't have the money. Well talk to you all later.
clickin on the link in my sig will get you into the chapter. =)
I really enjoy participation from members.
I am not hesitant to remove non participating members. =)

I'm close to Dearborn too. I used to drive by Greenfield village and Ford world headquarters every day on the way to work. One job I had had me going to the R&D facility. We've been to the museum, the race building(before it closed) and the Imax theatre. Roush Industries is close by in Livonia.
