Welder choice...

5-blade fan??
I received a fan from a fellow member (thanks, Dick!!), and it's a 5-bladed fan, and not symetrical - I mean the spacing is not star shaped, but erratic. I think it was off a '52.
Have you ever seen one of these? Any chance at it being better than the 4-blade that was on the flattie, when I got the truck?
Thanks in advance,
R

My dad went out one day looking for welders so we could fix my frame on my 51 and the guy told him that the millermatic 140 would be the best for what we wanted to use it for (basicaly just the frame on my truck and maybe some body panels) nothing over 1/8 or 3/16. The millermatic 140 says it can weld up to 3/16. Is the welder worth the extra dough??? Compared to the hobart 187 it is similar in price. Dad thinks that miller is the "cadilac" of welders cause he has used miller welders where he works now, compared to what they used to use...I think it was lincoln

Reed1951,
I bought the Miller 135 about 6-7 years ago and am very satisfied with it. Like AX said, the Hobart is made by Miller. When I researched the Miller 135 and the Hobart 140 several years ago the only difference I found was that the Miller had infinite heat and wire speed controllers. The Hobart had an infinite wire speed controller and a 5 position switch for heat selection. So, in theory, you would be able to adjust the Miller a little better, but it would take someone with a lot more experience than me to be able to take advantage of that increased capability. I don't think you can go wrong with either welder.
Good Luck!
