If the old timers told you that, you need to take them with you to class. The YUGO was from a communist country.

That is right Jappan is not a Communist country. Maybe you have them mixed up with China. Maybe you just aren't smart enough to know what Communism is, I will post a link for you on the government of Japan. They are not Communists. Try Constitutional Monarchy.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japan#G...t_and_politics

If you can read you can learn, at least I'll give you the benefit of a doubt.

Weird things I've learned reading this thread

1. Lincoln Town cars are sports sedans

2. Japan is a communist country

3. Mustangs are sports cars

4. having 4 doors disqualifies a car that runs low 13's from being considered fast

5. There are people in this world who can type and post on an online forum yet apparently cannot read

Foreign is still junk end of story.
My F-150 was made in Canada, does that make it a piece of junk. After all Canada is in another country last time I checked

That Caddy is just as much of a sports car as a Shelby Mustang

Caroll shelby but his name on some Dodge Ommni's in the 80's. It didn't miracously turn them into sports cars then either.

A mustang is a PONY car, not a sports car.

WHICH IS IT? Make up your mind and quit acting like a woman

here comes the lame "where the profits go" line

I think we have established that sglaine is mentally retarded, or functionally illiterate.

Either that or the man (woman?) is in permanent denial of reality.

The Yugo was nothing more than a rebadged FIAT 124 made in Yugoslavia.

The FIAT 124 was also made in Spain. There, it was called the SEAT (say'at).

I didn't know that Carroll Shelby made GT500 boats. A strait is a narrow channel of water between two land masses.

The term "Muscle Car" has been badly butchered in recent years.

It had nothing to do with Pony Cars, the name of which was derived from the Mustang.

Pony Cars: Mustang's, and its competition: Cougar's, Camaro's, Trans-Am's, AMX's, Barracuda's, Javelins, etc.

Muscle Cars: Originally the name was coined in the mid 1960's to denote an intermediate sized car with a large engine from a full sized car.

First Muscle Car: 1964 Pontiac GTO with the 389cid Catalina/Bonneville/Grand Prix engine.

GTO = GM said it stood for Gran Turismo Omolagato.

Us Ford guys called the GTO ~ the Garbage Truck Option.

Ford Trivia: In the early 1960's, Lee Iacocca and The Deuce (Heny Ford II) pitted one Ford Division against another to come up with a design for a "sporty car."
The winner of the competition was the Lincoln/Mercury Division. They called their car the Cougar.

Lee Iacocca changed the name to: MUSTANG.

Don't listen to Hobo, he's probably a commie too, you got to watch them SOB's they're everywhere...

Would you feel let down and dissapointed if Ford bought some of their parts from Japan...Wouldn't it be really bad if Ford spent something like 1 billion dollars building a plant in China...

Tundra's and Titans are only made in the US of A. No where else.

What about the Billions of US Dollars that Ford has sunk into parts and assembly plants in China?

What about Ford's assembly plants and parts plants that have built parts and cars in Hermosillo, Mexico since the Mercury Tracer of 1979?

The current Ford Fusion/Mercury Milan, and whatever name Lincoln is calling their re-badged version this week (It was Zephyr, now it's MK somethng or other), are all: Hecho en Mexico.

What about Ford of Canada? Ford of Australia? Ford do Brazil? Of Dagenham England, of Cologne Germany?

What about the 500 million bucks Ford just invested in India?

Ford buys millions of dollars worth of parts (and once complete trucks) from Japan every year, and has since the early 1970's. JATCO auto transmissions used in US 1970's Ford LTD Taxicabs (JATCO = Japanese Auto Trans Co), 1972/80 Courier = rebadged Mazda = Made in Japan. Toyo Kogyo and Mitsubishi 5 speed transmissions = Made in Japan. Nippondenso a/c compressors: Made in Japan. Mazda parts for Rangers/Explorers = Made in Japan.

The Ford Probe was assembled in Flat Rock, MI with 90% of its parts = Made in Japan.

WWII Japanese Zero fighter plane = made by Mitsubishi...in Japan.

What disappoints me is they really have no choice but to outsource, as does any factory/manufacturer, domestic or not, that wants to compete in the US market. Value added tax as well as the overall lop-sided "free trade" bs deals are killing this country.
