Edelbrock - new or re-manufactured?
I live in Cal so I was limited because of the emissions requirements. I have a 86 F-250 w/460. It uses a Holley 4180C model carb with a special vacumn port for the EGR valve line. I went with a rebuilt Holley carb, got it in one day from Autozone. I looked all over and found Autozone actually is an authorized dealer for factory Holley remans. I don't know why but there are two models, one was $279 and the other $320 something. Both of these were anywhere from $125 to $250 cheaper than anywhere else and are backed with a one year warranty compared to most with a 90 day. I called Holley for tech support and had to leave a message. At first I thought I would never hear back, however about an hour later the tech guy called and helped me with an adjustment question. He also gave me an authorization to have Autozone get me another carb ASAP if the problem was found to be other than an adjustment. Great tech support and customer service. The Holley runs great, is stock, bolts right up and there is no messing with kick down lever linkage being different, etc. I sure didn't go wrong with the Holley and Autozone, this is not a commercial, I was just real happy.
