hpx oil loss

how much oil did you guys loose when you did this mod and how did you prepare?

Did you just use some rags or did you power wash the valley afterward?

power wash the whole valley! I get tired just doing my driveway

;-) sorry I had to

I think I'd just grab a roll of paper towels and make a little dam for the oil. Maybe get a turkey baster and a coffee can to get the worst of it. Did you get the stainless one or the braided one?

Hey Neal did you notice a big difference with this mod? It looks like an easy mod,and I can go to a local hydraulic shop and have one made for next to nothing honestly what improvements do you see just curios?

Where did you buy yours from FLEA and for how much?

Mine goes to an idle quicker upon start and made the start easier. Maybe a little better throttle response.

X2 Yes be VERY CAREFUL if you plan to do the hose in a local hydraulic shop, are there many stories blowing them and a big mess underhood.

The explanation for the mode is:
This hose is used to bridge the 2 high pressure oil rails in the heads that feed the injectors on the 7.3L Powerstroke.
The installation of this hose will typically smooth out rough idles as the ICP can now sense the pressure in both heads, quiet the engine, as well as provide improved oil flow to the injectors.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>

<o> </o>

This kit is intended for installation on a power stroke engine to ensure that the high-pressure oil rails receive the same amount of high-pressure oil from the high-pressure oil pump. The result of installing this kit includes, but is not limited to, a quieter running engine, smoother idle, and more responsive throttle. This kit is recommended to all power stroke owners from model year 1994 through and including the 2002 model year. <o></o>

This kit will NOT eliminate what is commonly called “cackle” or “idle knock”. One side effect of this kit after installation is that the engine runs quieter. This allows you to hear other potential problems in your engine that were previously covered up by engine noise.<o></o>
