Advice for exhaust newbie

Well I changed the gasket on my headers and noticed that the collector is very rusty. I have concluded that the annoying exhaust tap is coming from a hole somewhere in the passenger side header. The headers have been welded on and I dont like the sound of the exhaust anyways so I need advice on good exhaust since I have never replaced an exhaust system. Engine is a 460, 2WD with C6 trans by the way. I need advice on headers, mufflers, pipe diameter, and whether to use a crossover or X-pipe. Here is what I am looking for:

1) Deep, throaty tone. Loud enough that neighbors may hear me coming, but not loud enough to piss them off.

2) Economical. Dare I say cheap? Best bang for my buck.

3) Good street performance.

I paid $25 for my Flowtech Raptor. It is very throaty, loud enough that neighbors may hear you coming but should not get them mad. However, on a 460 it may be louder yet than on my 300.
