I'll Make A Long Story Short. Was In Vermont Last Thursday When It Was About -15. On The Way Up From New Jersey I Added Some Anti-gel In To The Tank But There Was Only About 1/4 Tank When It Sat Overnight. My Truck Does Not Have The Block Heater Link Cord, So Of Coarse It Did Not Start In The Am. Later In The Day It Warmed Up And Barely Got The Truck Running. Went To Fuel Up And All They Had At The Mobil Was 60/40 Winterized Fuel. I Filled The Tank And Went To Restart But Was A No Go. I Used A Small Amount Of Starting Fluid To Get It Going And It Seemed Ok But Still Was Losing Power And Acting Like It Was Not Getting Fuel. Now I Am Back In Nj And It Will Barely Start In The Morning And After It Warms Up It Will Not Start At All. It Is Throwing Two Codes. Low Injector Pressure, And One Code About The Crank Position Sensor. I'll Put The Code Numbers Up If Nedded. Any Help Or Advice Would Be Apprieciated.
A CKP (Crankshaft Position) signal is required before the IPR (Injection Pressure Regulator) is commanded. The PCM will not enable the injectors because of insufficient rail pressure. If the PCM detects a faulty ICP (Injection Control Pressure) sensor, the PCM will estimate injection pressure.
Weak battery
Connection
Faulty IPR
High pressure pump failure
Leak in the high pressure rail
Hard to diagnose with out the truck on hand, you need to have a tech look over the truck. See your friendly Ford dealer.
Where Is The Hp Pump Connection? Can I Check That Myself??
-also Would It Just Be A Coincidence That The Truck Had This Problem The Same Time That The Fuel Gelled? Would It Have Anything To Do With The 60/40 Winterized Fuel?
