EFI in 1978 F-150
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 10-Oct-02 AT 08:23 PM (EST)]Can i wire the computer out of a 1992 F-350 into a 1978 F-150 so that I can use the EFI?The F-350 is whole and no parts have been scavenged off its corpse, or would it be easier to put on some Victor Jr. heads and a torker intake?

Yes you can. I have a 460 EFI out of a '98 sitting beautifully in my '74 F250. You just have to figure that the EFI's computer needs some input from various parts that the older trucks didn't have. You'll have to do some custom fabrication in areas for things such as the exhaust downtubes before the cat converter. I actually left the cat converter off of my rig so that I could have a throaty sound. Also, you'll need the speed sensor off of the late model speedo cable and your fuel system will need a revamp (return line into your current tank).
Just keep the computer wiring intact and you'll be fine.
Graffe.
