I have an AIH plug coming and have looked at the install. In the pics it seems that there is only 1 wire that goes to the AIH and then to a solenoid. My Setup has 2 wires that are attached to the AIH....
Do I remove them both?
What are they?
Yes, you remove both. One wire is the power supply for the heater, it's the wire from the middle to the big relay. The other wire is a ground for the heater and should be attached to the block.
It should be in the directions but I believe the first is the hot wire which gets removed and the other in the ground closest to the pipe. I just taped off my ground and left it then threw the AIH and the hot wire in the glove box just in case. Verify that is all there is to it as I'm old and forgetful.
Double check the directions but it's a quick job. I am in Iraq at the moment and don't remember exactly how I did mine but it is easy. There may be another wire to add at the selenoid but not sure. I know they both get disconnected from the Heater itself but as for the rest wait for the directions unless someone else can chime in.
Disconnect both wires and completely remove the one that goes to the relay. You can take the ground wire off the engine too to clean up the valley, but the hot wire you need to make sure to take off the relay so something doesn't accidentally get fried.
