One of the best ways is to order an Electrical, Vacuum and Troubleshooting Manual (EVTM) from Helm's Publications which is specific to your year and model and gives very comlete and easy-to-read wiring diagrams. But let us know what the specifics are on your truck (year, model, engine, etc.) and just what your problems are and maybe we can guide you through some shortcuts.

its a 91 rang with a 2.9 v6 with an auto trans. Me and a buddy rolled the truck then body swapped it to a 94 cab. It is being fully caged now and all we need is the truck to run. we don't need anymore or any less. just the motor to run . what plugs are the main ones that make this motor run?

Bare minimum to run (off the top of my head):

PCM with power and ground connections
Injectors and fuel pump
ICM power, ground, and PCM to ICM connections.
coil and spark plug wires.
MAP/MAF (depending on which your '91 2.9 uses).

Can't think of anything else that is "necessary" though it probably won't run well until you get most of the rest of the engine management wired in as well (O2 sensor, TPS, etc).
