Question Rusted Front Coil Spring Towers

I have a 1995 f-150 4x4 4.9 5spd. The front coil spring towers are rusted through. This is the part of the frame that the coil spring and shock attaches too. It is part of the frame. What is the correct name for this part and can it be replaced? If so do you have a supplier?

Thanks.

You have the correct name. Yes, they can be replaced. You will have to remove the rivots(drill, grinder, air chisel). Just replace with grade 8 hardware.
Also, be aware there is a brake hose that runs through the bracket. It is held tight with a spring clip(dealer only item).
BroncoGraveyard has replacement towers as well as your local dealer. My dealer was actually a little cheaper, but needed to special order parts. So, I got them from BroncoGraveyard as they are local to me, about $100 per side.
Might as well replace the rubber brake hose while you have it all apart for good measure.
Let me know if you have anymore questions.

Thanks ALZ for the quick reply. I'm not crazy about going to the dealer and never thought of the bronco graveyard. I'm going to look now.

or spring perches
anyway, Ford still produces them as a replacement part, and they're really not that overly hard to do..
a spring compressor would be a good tool to rent from NAPA or Auto Stoned...

Spring compressor not really needed on these trucks. Lift the truck by frame. Remove the shock and the axle should drop enough to remove the spring. You may have to put a little weight on it, but definitely enough room.

No compressor needed. There was a post that this is no longer a dealer part. Bronco Graveyard had them . They r of the dual shock type.

They are available from dealers still. There was a post about a month ago that had alot of good discussion. My local FORD dealer was able to get them in 2 days I recall, maybe one. If they can only get the "dual shock" design they will work just fine, even if you have the single application.
If you need any help or pointers post or PM me.

Definetly replace the following:
Tower (duh)
Rubber brake Line
Shocks
USE GRADE 8 HARDWARE
Anything else you do, is up to your as you see fit, shouldnt take long at all

If your truck is single shock and you buy a double shock tower, can you just buy two additional shocks without buying anything else (are two lower mounts already there from the factory?

It's 15 degrees and snowy here or else I'd go out with a flashlight and check myself!
