429 Thunderjet rebuild

I have a 429 from a 68 T-Bird I would like to put in my 68 F-100. I would like some suggestions on cam, intake, carb, and dist. Also would like to put headers on. Will headers for a 460 fit this? Has anyone done this swap? Any and all suggestions would be helpful.

yes, headers from a 460 will work. also, for intake carb cam and distributor, i would suggest a cam the has 210-220 degrees duration @.050 and at least a 4 degree difference from exhaust to intake duration(385 series motors have a lil trouble breathing on the exhaust side) performer rpm intake and a 750 carb(some like holley some like edelbrock...your choice) and for the distributor, i went with a msd billet and 6al control box. just some food for thought

Stock they ain't bad. I have used them in cars as heavy as your truck & went deep in the 13's. Keep it simple, just get new pistons!
