you can use the 4 in. thin wall sewer pipe... or just do a tymar intake... using napas number 6637 air filter... and a 4 in. piece of exhaust pipe... all you got to do is slip the exhaust pipe in the filter... and turn the factory intake line a half turn i think... and then slip the sewer pipe in the factory hose... and walah you have better then a cold air intake...

I tried the version you are talking about but wasn't happy with a filter just laying on the inner fender.
My plan is to relocate the batteries and build an aluminum box to house the 6637 filter with direct plumbing to "clean" air. I'm working a design to eliminate water intrusion which is what concerned me more than the hot air the open element ingested sitting on the inner fender.
Thin wall sewer pipe, eh? I'll look into that.
