If it's like my '95 (and I'm pretty sure it is...), it'll come on when you turn your dome light on on the dash switch.

My 99 has both the "directional" overhead lights that are turned on by a switch on the dome and then an "all light" which is all the way up on the gauge light dimmer switch. Basically dial it to the brightest, then one "click" higher from there.

This is what I meant. Sorry for the confusing words...

The overhead "directional" lights are called "map lights."

The cargo light is part of the "courtesy light" circuit, and should come on when you open the door or when you turn the dimmer completely to "bright" and then one notch further. If the cargo light doesn't come on when either of those events occur, then the bulb's burned out, or there's a more complex failure.

Thanks for the help. I will try it out this weekend. I'm betting on the burned out bulb type thing. I'll get back to you, on how I make out.
Thanks again.

I'd guess the bulb. I went out and tried two of mine with the same set-up as you and neither cargo light went on. Never used them but ought to make them at least functional.
