HI wmiller I don,t know how far along you are but to get it out you will need a set of spring clip pliers take that out and use a flat head screwdriver to get the seal or you can buy a cheep seal remover it looks like a bent crochet needle with a screwdriver handle try not to gouge the sides too much when it is out clean where the seal goes as much as you can especially the groove where the spring clip goes I use a small flat screwdriver bent over if the groove isn't cleaned out enough the seal will just keep popping out after you have it back together

 

sounds easy enough. Most auto parts carry the seal? How much ps fluid do theses trucks take?

 

Yes most places will have it ,I would get one jug of fluid for now fill it and top up from there

Have you started to take it apart yet?

 

i started to try and pull the pitman arm off but couldn't get my puller on it. I didn't have time to fool with it today I'll try after school tomorrow

 

I had to order the seal and it will be in today. No one could get just the seal so i had to get a hit. dealer wanted $35 i got it for $17 at parts+. Haven't got the tie rods apart yet. any tricks? How do i get the shaft out to re-seal it
