Air Intake

Ok... This is annoying.. I got the separating air filter crap going on with my donaldson system.. Some folks said to get the AFE Replacement filter that has the metal canister instead of the plastic on. It helps to keep it the seals from opening. We did the smoke test and all the smoke was being pulled into the intake

Anyone know if that filter is ok to us? I'll still have stock setup, just the filter will be in metal can instead of a plastic on.. I talked to Ford and they said that the intake isn't covered under my 100k warranty, not bout to pay arm and leg for another system..

4x4Mark is starting off with a positive reputation.
Look under your emissions warranty, the induction system is covered there.

storm i think it really depends on who your dealer is and your diesel tech. A good tech will look at any problems and ask "does it have anything to do with mods?" if not - they should still hold your warranty valid. Of course there are the jerks who will see a small modification a void your whole warranty. Ex - if your fuel pump went and they decided to void your warrant because of the intake...obvious BS. I would talk to your diesel tech, not some suit in the dealership. GL!
