I have an 05XLT V10 that came w/o fog lights did come with the autolamp.

Last year I added the factory fog lights to my truck. It is very confusing figuring out what parts you need when you have autolamp as the Ford kit states clearly that it does not work with autolamp. The reason for that is the kit comes with a new headlight switch that pulls out for fog lights but the switch in the kit does NOT have the autolamp position. If you install that kit you are forced to remove your existing headlight switch and will therefore lose the autolamp position in the process. This is why Ford states the kit will not work with the autolamp.

If you purchase the ford kit it should work fine but you will need to purchase another headlight switch that includes the autolamp feature to keep that.

I ended up purchasing a pair of OEM Ford fog lights off of a guy on EBay and bought the Fog Lights+AutoLamp switch from y2kford.com. The switch cost me $45 w/ shipping.

Installation was easy as pie. The wiring for the fog lights was already underneath the truck. All you need to do is connect the short harness from the fog lights to the plug that is hanging underneath the truck on the drivers side (near the drivers side front wheel). Then swap out the switch with the one that you purchased that is autolamp/parking lights/headlights w/ pullout for fog lights. It just pops out and the new one pops back in utilizing the existing wiring harness. I had the whole thing done in an hour including aiming of the fog lights. Hope this helps.

I looked up the eng compartment looms and they listed different loom part numbers depending on if you had various options, one option being fog lamps. So if Aaron had the loom there, way cool!

Hea Aaron I worked at Y2K. if you bought it before 4-1-07 I sold it to you!

I did not buy the official Ford Kit. I got the OEM lights + fog light wiring from a guy on Ebay who had removed his factory fog lights to but in some big aftermarket ones. I did not have to drill any holes through the firewall or run anything under the dash...I just had to hook the fog lights up to a harness underneath the truck and swap out the switch.

I am sure I can get a picture for you BadAssVT for where that harness is on my truck. Let me know!

It may be different if you don't have the XLT or the autolamp...Who knows.
