I wonder if you can just get a switch that has auto and fogs?
My work truck has it.
BADAS03SVT, sounds good.
the kit comes with one of 4 switches. the 4 switches are
#1 parking, headlights
#2 auto, parking, headlights
#3 parking, headlights a fogs (pull out) "i think this is in the kit"
#4 auto, parking, headlights and fogs (pull out)
I just dont know if they all use the same plug with open pins in the wiring. if its all the sam eplug the kit should work for any 05-07 I would think.
and since I have auto on my truck now (never use it) can i get a switch WITHOUT auto and it will work fine.

Well, since you have a switch that has everything ("#4 auto, parking, headlights and fogs (pull out)") I don't see why I can't get it. Guess I'll have to talk to the Ford parts guy again and point that out.

I would think if you got the #4 switch, the "auto on" function wouldnt work...has to be some sort of sensor right??

OK, I'm getting confused..You said the #4 switch has an auto position. Do you mean the auto headlight wouldn't work with the fogs on, but the headlight should work in the "auto" position?
Yeah the sensor is in the middle of the dash near the window... I'm thinking the parts gut had my truck mixed up with some other vehicle.
I have a 00 Lariat that does not have the factory fog lights, the switch pulls out but it doesn't light up. I have seen the walmart lights you are talking about and they are similar. The link they just put up on ebay the seller has another set for the older models for 249.
I was wondering about that too! I have a 99 Lariat and have the foglight pull-out switch on my dash, but no foglights.. Was wondering if they were taken before I bought the truck, but maybe just the switch came with our trucks?...

no no..i mean if you dont have auto on now, you prob dont have the sensor...so why get the one with auto on? it wont work.

Ok got it. lol
I do have the auto light switch(auto, off, parking, headlight). The part guy said I would lose the auto light if I added the fog light kit.

I also have an Auto switch that works with fogs. Maybe there is a difference in the wiring between a factory auto/fog set-up and the installation of the kit?
Also...On the why do the fog lights go off when the high beams are on?
It was my understanding that in some states if not all, there are laws which restrict the wattage of front white light on a vehicle. With high beams and fog/driving lights...you could be over.?? I could be wrong.

Ok so I have trying to figure this out for BADAS03SVT, I did find out how and what is needed for the 2008 Superduty's I'll have a kit listed on my web page soon for that.
I have determined that for the 2006/07 Superdutys use the kit 5C3Z15200AC It has the same fog lamps, same switch so the looms must work from switch to lamps, if you have auto headlamps you must purchase another switch 5C3Z11654FAA and you may have to run a separate wire for the auto function to work or rewire the connector, not sure about this as I am a parts guy not a tech. I say it should work. not 100% on plug and play but from what I can figure it will work but may need a little massaging.

Fog lights don't work with hi-beams becuase when it is actually foggy the hi-beams will create more glare because they are brighter and up higher.
Same applies to extremely hard rain and snow.

Most (all?) states require that a vehicle not have more than 4 illuminated forward lights and since the high beams for most vehicles use a set of low and high-beam specific bulbs you hit your 4 bulb limit and can't use fogs at the same time.
