This isn't a good sign...

Ford has slipped behind Chrysler in annual sales in Canada for the first time ever - Ford is now #3 in the "Big Three". Let's hope that new F150 changes Ford's fortunes...

But, the F150 was the best selling vehicle in Canada in 2007.

Therefore that would indicate to me that the new F150 won't change Ford's fortunes.

What Ford needs is more cars to appeal to more buyers.

From what I've heard, the new Focus, Fusion and Taurus are good cars, but to me they are just boring transportation. Nothing more, nothing less.

I agree, Theres nothing that appeals to the Younger eyes like me. I love the 150s but i cant afford a 30,000 + Pickup truck. Now they are getting rid of the ranger, theres nothing at all now that i can sumwhat afford thats a nice truck.

Ford should make a real economy truck. A cheap truck that decked out to the max with a off road package still only costs like 16k brand new. It should not be any bigger than the Ranger was, in fact I'd like to see it a little smaller on the outside but bigger on the inside, with an available crew cab. They should make everything customizable for the customer, and really advertise that fact heavily(like Scion). If I were Ford I would use old technology and stuff borrowed from every other Ford to keep prices cheap, nothing real fancy. They should push more power out of thier 4 cylinder, get it to be at least as stout as the Colorado 4 cylinder, and make a small V6 as an option, but a small diesel would be the best bet. A straight front axle would be cool too.

I doubt ford will cancel production of the 6.2L Ford really needs this motor as well as that diesel. If i was in the financial situation to buy a new truck in 08, i would definatly buy the boss.

I am likeing the sound of the twinforce v6. It would be real cool if it was a updated version 300 I6 with twin turbos. If the twinforce performs like its rumored to and gets the gas mileage its rumored to. and is available in the F150 like its rumored to. I think it would be a very likely canditate.

Lol the twin force direct injected 6.2l sounds REALY good also but for some reason I dont realy see that happening in the near future.

Exactly. It's all about options. No too people want the same vehicle. The closer you can come to keeping everyone happy as far as vehicles go, the happier you will be. I was on the GM website. I found out that they now offer the Canyon as a chassis cab model. My thought was why doesn't Ford do this with similar models. Look at how many models of cars GM offers and compare it to how many are offered by FoMoCo.

I don't know that not producing a 6.2L would be such a bad thing if they could up the power on a 5.4 by twin forcing or something of the such.....what happened to motors that lasted for decades....4.9, 5.0, 5.8, 7.5, those engines were around for the better part of two decades....the 5.4 has been around for 10 years.....boost power....and increase fuel mileage....i'm worried that a 6.2 is going to get like 10 mpg....

I totally agree with u on this one and personally I would not touch a 6.2 with 2 plugs per cyl. and cyl. deactivation way too many possible problems, I am going to get an 09 but it will be the 5.4 now that they have the plug problem resolved.

i don't mind the 2 plugs per cylinder or the cylinder deativation.....but i don't think in todays technology we need to just increase displacement to improve power.....i want better mileage...i'm perfectly happy with my trucks power....

The Toyota numbers are tweaked because 1/2 of the 06 Tundra's weren't sold until 2007. That's how they beat Ford by around 46,000 units.

The newer hemis run the two plugs per cylinder. Acually for better emissions. Ford has to meet with Really strict emissions so i think that 6.2 should be up to at least what the 5.4 gets. But im just guessing. If it is bad MPG no one will buy it, especially with oil over 100 a barrel.
