OK I have a chance to buy a 2003 4.6 liter engine tranny and all the computer and wiring for 1200 bucks with low kms on it. The guy said it has a p71 police package on it.
It is a cop car that got smacked up I believe. What do ya guys think?

Does it have a real throttle cable?

Does the early 90's Ford have 4x4?

I'm certain that motor is fly by wire, which uses a sensor on the pedal rather than any mechanical linkage.

The "cop" motors are nothing more than a factory Crown Victoria had. The P71 package is sway bars front and rear and dual exhaust.

Is it fly-by-wire? A 2-valve 4.6L?

The 3-valve VVT 5.4L came out in '04 (F150) with the fly-by-wire, I was assuming the 2-valvers didn't especially in the CV.

Steve Giles is starting off with a positive reputation.
I say go for it. I am putting 2005 f150 4.6 2v in my 1992 flareside with cold air intake headers and comp cam ex262ha I will be around 300hp and around 300ftlb don't need much more will get 25 highway 20 in town and pass emission laws. I could rebuild my 302 but it will cost more than the 25,000 mile 4.6 with transmission and PCM The detail zone will reprogram PCM remove pats and performance tune for $350.00 I say go for all the modern upgrades that make since.
