I've seen dual pipe on a 4.6 truck after the converters with no mufflers. It wasn't real loud, just a nice noticable tone. The converters usually muffle the sound pretty good. This should give you a little more mid-range and top end power by reducing back pressure.

I have a 1994 F-250 with the 460. when I bought the truck it had a 3" strait pipe on it. It wasn't loud even pulling a trailer. It had a nice rumble to it. The converters on these trucks are so big and long that they muffle the sound enough. I would go for it.

(9.5 to 1 compression is just what I,m looking for.
