Radio + Speaker

Does anyone know what size of speaker would be in the dash of a 68 F250? Also what is the easiest way to change it? The radio sounds like crap in my truck and I assume the speaker is shot. I want to keep the factory look so the radio stays but the speaker can go. Any help appreciated!

1967/70 F100/750 = C7TZ-18808-A .. Radio Speaker ~ 5 1/2" x 7 1/2" / 8.0 ohms.

1971/72 F100/750 = D2TZ-18808-B .. Radio Speaker ~ 5" x 7" / 3.2 ohms.

> > D3AZ-18808-C .. Rear Radio Speaker ~ 5 1/2" x 7 1/2" / Fits: 1973/78 LTD S/W

FTE sponsor GREEN SALES (800-543-4959) has 4 of the D3AZ-C speakers, but whether they'll work in a '67/70 F Series truck is anyones guess. < <

Other Ford passenger cars with 5 1/2" x 7 1/2" radio speakers:

1978/83 Fairmont/Zephyr = front (D8BZ-18808-A) & rear (D8BZ-18808-B).

1975/80 Granada/Monarch & 1975/78 Mustang II = front (D5DZ-18808-A).

1979/91 Mustang = rear (D9ZZ-18808-A).

1979/? LTD = front = monaural ONLY (D9AZ-18808-A).

I pulled my toasted speaker out and matched it up with a replacement speaker from Kragen, about $10. I slightly modified the speaker and installed it using the stock bracket.

instig8r63... how did you go about getting the dash pad off to change the speaker?

You don't pull the dash pad. I pulled out my glove box liner and radio out and pulled it out the glove box.
