Tranny ???'s
Well, I am new to this side of the world, as you can tell from my sig. Anyway, a friend of mine has a 95 F250 4X4 with 230k on the odometer. He has the automatic in it and it does some weird things to him. I don't think he is paying as close of attention, but he swears this is whats happening. When the truck is cold everything runs as it shoud. If it is cold outside, everything runs as it should. But, if it is warm out (above 50 degrees F) the tranny will slip when it warms up. Basically it slips when it is warm, but only when outside temp is warm. This doesn't make much sense to me as the oil is going to heat up no matter what the temp, it just might take longer on a cold day. Anyway, he has been told to get a rebuilt tranny. He has changed the oil and filter to no avail, and also put a new torque converter in it with no success. Just trying to help a friend out. Thanks in advance for the help.
