Front bumper Rub Strips?

I've been looking for a pair since I've known about them. To my knowledge, no one reproduces them for '78-'79 front bumpers.

Have I overlooked a dealer/supplier? I see some with the bumpers all drilled out for the strips, but the strips aren't included.

If I can get the fog light equipped front bumper I see all over the place, I'll gladly get rid of the ones on my XLT.

Must be referring to the fog lights on my '78 parts truck. If you want it you got it. However, the one visible on the pic is complete. The other is only the metal backing. These lights were welded onto the top bumper bolt. The wiring was through the grille and was cut when I removed the bumper for towing. I don't know where the wiring came from, or know if the lights were originals from Ford. The lights are in the shed and the truck is unavaillable until spring.

There are two types of HORIZONTAL front bumper pads.

1973/77 F100/350 & 1978 F100/350 Before: Serial Number AG0,001

D3TZ-17K833-A .. Left Side // D3TZ-17K834-A .. Right Side < < GREEN SALES HAS 3 OF THESE.

1978/1979 F100/350 After: Serial number AG0,001

D8TZ-17K833-A .. Left Side // D8TZ-17K834-A .. Right Side

===========================================
Front bumpers made for fog lamps? No such thing.

The only bumpers Ford made 1973/79 were with or without horizontal pads.

1973/78 (before serial #AG0,001) = C4TZ-17757-D .. Bumper w/o pads.

1973/78 (before serial #AG0,001) = D3TZ-17757-A .. Bumper with horizontal pads.

1978/79 (after serial #AG0,001) = D8TZ-17757-A .. Bumper - w/o pads

1978/79 (after serial #AG0,001) = D8TZ-17757-B .. Bumper - with horizontal pads.

1978/79 = D8TZ-17757-C .. Bumper- painted gloss black - w/o pads

No Ford F Series trucks or Bronco's had fog lamps mounted inside the bumper.

The fog lights were mounted on the optional push bar.

Some were mounted atop the bar, some were mounted between the bars.

Ford also made a universal fog lamp kit beginning in 1965 for cars & trucks.

These lamps were round with either clear or amber lenses and mounted on the gravel pans (stone deflectors).

C5RZ-15200-A .. Clear Lens / C5RZ-15200-B .. Amber Lens.

Thanks for the numbers, Bill. Is quite hard to find. I just might end up cutting an old mudflap and superglue my "fabrications" to the bumper haha.

Ty, Just go by a auto body parts shop and see what generic trim they have on a roll.

I get my stuff like that at the NAPA paint and autobody supplies stores in Calgary.

I have seen 3" wide black vinyl with chrome edges for sale.

I wish I could remember the manufacturers name

Nope those are bumperettes and are Vertical.

Some Ford trucks had Horizontal bumper pads like Lincoln Town Cars

That's a great thought, Dennis. Thanks. I just got my dad's hedge trimmer to cut some rubber, but the store trim would be much nicer and straighter.

I bought a pair of those bumper guards from LMC a year ago. They seem to be produced from the same source. Haven't installed them yet. Waiting for the big teardown and repainting to add the trimmings.

psquare75, that's an impressive truck. I can only hope that after the big teardown, repainting and trimmings, my truck would look as good as yours. I bet you have that picture in your wallet.
