Question 91 Ranger 4.0L

I've been told to check the TPS on the truck. How is this done?

IMO, the first step would be to pull codes, to see if the computer sees a fault in the TPS.

TPS is a simple potentiometer. Basic test procedure is to put an ohmmeter on it and see if the resistance changes smoothly across it's range of motion. You'll want a wiring diagram so you can properly identify the three leads.
