Airbags on front leaf springs?????

So, I have a 3 leaf front suspension on the front of my '97 F250 HD 4x4.
The front has about 1/2" diff. b/w the drivers and passenger's sides. The back is about 2 inches higher. I would like to equal the fronts up to be the same as the back.
The guy who will align the truck told me lifting the front to about level with the back would bring the front IFS DANA 50 in better alignment, not to mention give me more clearance b/c I am hitting my bumps stops often.
The things causing my front to sag are the diesel motor and the 1,000lb of veggie fuel (including tank) in the front of my long bed.

Does anyone have suggestions as the best way to do this?

1. Should I drop $700 and have the local spring guy put thicker stout'er leaves under it.
2. should I buy stock leaf replacements and put some airbags on the front to make sure no sagging is going on?
3. should I just put airbags on the front now without new leaves.

I am also trying to go for a softer ride. i don't do lots of towing but like to be able to haul once an a while.
I am definitely(sic) going for a better ride and inexpensiveness.

Thanks for all inputs.

Well the problem with all your options is they won't help the ride one bit. Air bag will make it ride worse unless you just put 5 psi in them in which case they will do no good. new springs with a third leaf will probably be your best option. When I had my 250 I did an add a leaf leveling kit and it was 1/2 inch lower in the front than the rear. I actually lifted the rear another 3/4 just so it didn't look like the rear was sagging. your ride might be a bit better cause you not hitting the bump stops or it might be a bit worse because of the extra leaf.
