'85 f250 oil filter adapter seal
Howdy, this is my first time to post, i've been on the board for a few weeks. I have an 85 2wd f250 with a 460 and a four speed that i use for towing a Mecedes Unimog. The only leak it had was from the oil filter adapter and when I called around, i found that no one, not even the dealers carried the o-ring i needed, so i finally ended up at a pool supply place and found an o-ring that works. Has anyone else had this problem? What did you do to fix it? TIA

Aggie 460, I don't know if it makes a difference on o-rings. In other words, I don't know if they all tolerate oil. I know rubber hoses don't all tolerate oil.
You need to have an o-ring that will tolerate engine oil and not swell up or distort from the softening effects of oil.
When I needed one my local NAPA dealer had exactly what I needed in stock.
I just took the oil filter adapter with me so he could match the size.
