How to remove fan clutch?

I'm trying to remove the fan clutch on my '03 6.0L to replace a broken rear shroud and am going to replace the belt while I'm at it. I have the Ford service manual, but it is very undescriptive on how to remove the fan clutch.

It says to insert something in a hole in the fan hub to keep it from turning and use the special tool to loosen the clutch. I can't find what hole it is talking about, is this necessary?

If you have done this, please help me out, thanks!

there is a specific tool to remove the fan clutch for the 6.0. Sears has it on their web site. It's not cheap and there are plenty of universal tools that just don't fit this motor.

There is a hole in the pulley thats on the water pump that I put a long screw driver into to lock the pulley. My guess is thats what your looking for.I found for the 5 minitues that it takes to pull the rad is worth it as it gives you a whole lot more room in there.

Yeah, I have the entire front end off right now, radiator support and all. Its a totalled truck I'm rebuilding, hit in the front left corner. Finished straightening the frame a few days ago.
