I build one of a kind, high field, resistive and superconducting research magnets for a national laboratory. Sounds high tech, but its really a bunch of nuts, bolts and metal fab.

thedaddycat is gaining momentum as a positive member of FTE.
I work at Rhode Island Hospital, I'm a doctor with a PhD in applied reality. A size 13 Redwing suppository is the protocall prescription to cure most accute cases of recticranial inversion.... Actually, I have a Stationary Engineer Operator license which means I can operate boilers, turbines, pressure vessles, etc. I'm an operator in the power plant there. I've been in the power field most of my adult life, starting out running nuclear plants for the Navy.

Isn't mining considered the 2nd or 3rd most dangerous job in the world? I bet the pay is right.

Mining is a dangerous job , but it is the same as all jobs , it is only as safe as you make it . You have to be aware of your suroundings at all times. It isnt as bad as it seems.

Here in WV "Coal" is the one of the main if not the main employer. I think everything in WV is coal related .
And you are right it pays the bills !!

That's the key point, be aware. We trash collectors HAVE to be aware. I think it's #5 on the dangerous job list. People run us over all the time (or we do the running over). Traffic is a bummer.
