Red face F-600 256cid

Decoded my F-600 to It showed the engine to be a O.H.V 8cylinder 256 cid Is this a Y block ?

Yes. They were used in mercurys and some '54 - '55 trucks. I found one in an F600 a couple of weeks ago, while I was lookiing for a 292. It's basically a 239 stroke with a 272 bore.
