Predator Carburetors

Has anyone used this type of carb on there 460's. If you have how did you like it or what did you dislike about it? Thinking about getting one to replace my Edelbrock 1407.

I have one, but haven't put it on yet. I just rebuilt it and now it's sitting on the shelf waiting to be installed. One thing keeping me from installing it is hood clearance issues.

Ya your right....The hood would be a problem, I didn't think about that one.

I had one ten years ago and didn't like it because I was living in cold country and needed a choke as it was a driver. They've changed in ten years and I've read two favorable reports on running them, both on high performance engines. No reports on street engines.

The Holley I have now doesn't have a choke, so that won't be a problem for me. Having a tall intake and using a 1" spacer under the carb don't help the clearance issues either. I'll be getting a cowl induction scoop in the next week or two and hack a hole in the hood for clearance. Then, I'll get the Predator installed, tuned and report back. Anyone have an offset air cleaner base?
