Hey everyone. I am about to install a gentex mirror with compass/temp. It looks pretty straight forward, except the power source. What wire would you use? It has to be a switched power supply. I have an 05 f250. Can you use the cut wire coming from the back of the ODB-II connector? Is there a better choice? Anyway, any help would be appreciated.

if it was me i would tap the power source from the fuse box and would stay away from the obd2 connector

 

I installed one similar this summer. After some research there is a spare wire behind the ash tray. I believe it was grey in color, and fused #19. The wire was just taped off. I believe it's called an accesory fuse in the manual. Good luck

 

the inst. that came with the mirrow should tell ,mine did.
