3rd Time Exhaust manfold leak, what is next?
I used a velpro standard, with the thin aluminum on one side, gasket on my 89' 460. It has leaked in the same spot, the leak is on the drivers side, the corner closest to the firewall. I retorqued the bolts down. This is the 3rd gasket that has leaked in the last 2-3 Months. Should I use a thicker brand of gasket, such as a copper gasket? Is there any other ways to repair this. I have not had any problems with the other side of the engine. What brand of gaskets, or type would you recommend me purchasing. I have 10,000 on this new engine, that I put in.

How strange, almost everyone will tell you the passenger side manifold, rear most stud loves to break on 429/460's. Kind of odd its the driverside. If your using cast manifolds, it could be that its warped and time to get a new one, since it keeps leaking.

If you want to fix it with gaskets, use a gasket made by Earles, it is called the pressure master (or words to that efect). It has a collapsable graphite core (that is replaceable.) I have seen these things work wonders. They are pricey, but a good deal if you don't want to take the manifold out.
