Who is getting good fuel mileage? 15 plus MPG
Ok guys i DECIDED TO PUT A NEW TWIST ON THE SITUATION. Instead off a thread about poor mileage an what mileage you get on these ttrucks. This is a thread about people getting good mileage. Tell me the truck you,the cab configuration. rear wheel ratio. Your ttype off driving. Highway or city. Lets keep the responses to 15MPG or better. Maybe a tallorder but will see. If you get less then 15 MPG dont respond if you get 15 plus MPG tell me about it.

Just got back from a 250 mile trip and averaged 18.5 mpg @ 65 mph with a 700 lb ATV in the back and another 500+ lbs of gear.
I average between 17-20 mpg empty on the highway, and 15-16 city.

Normal highway, tnpk, interstate driving at 63/65 mpg we get 15/18+ on a regular basis. City driving or daily driving is to varied to mean anything as we all drive in different conditions. Daily driving today we did 15 tomorrow maybe 12 or less if we get into heaver traffic or get a regen. Note that at 70MPG and over the MPG plunges. Considering this truck set up for towing a 5th wheel Rv , Full fuel and wife and myself aboard weighs in at over 9100K.we feel the mpg on these new motors is acceptable.

Ace!,
actually, that is converted in standard....imperial would be about 15.1 or so being the same as 18mpg, if i am calculating correctly.....
I still believe that is great mileage considering that was for an average speed of 75mph...maybe?
I agree with the keeping <10psi boost w/ the 6spd.....major benefit for mileage...

I have a reg cab long box,6 speed manual, 3.73 rear gears. 16.9 I drive both city and highway. Some things I've noticed: I keep the boost below 10 when I can. I shift at 2000 rpm when ever possible,I have been using the Ford anti-gel-performnance additive since the first tank. I also reset the mpg meter whenever it starts to stay at the same number for a couple of days in a row or starts to drop for no reason. I may be way off base here, But I am also starting to think that the ULSD may be like the oxyagenated vs.non oxyagenated gas. You use more oxyagenated then non oxyagenated gas. But again thats just a feeling on my part.
