Pyro Probe???

I need some input. Some tell me to mount the pyro probe after the turbo and some say pre. Im gettin ready to install it and need to know which is best. A lot of people tell me that right after the turbo on the 7.3 is the best. anyone got any pics of that?

put it in your left exhaust manifold "PRE TURBO" that is where you want it for sure.
you can kinda see it where the light is shining.

Definitely Pre Turbo...may be a little tougher to do, but its the best for monitoring the temp.

Another pre here! And don't worry, drilling and taping that manifold is not as hard as you think. It drills suprisingly easy.

I also say pre because my new truck came with one on it post turbo. The gauge is very slow and unresponsive. It reads temps, but slowly. As where in No.3, I have it mounted in the manifold, and it moves very quickly responding to what I'm doing.

Definately pre turbo....

The differences between PRE and POST turbo can be as wide as 300-400*, so always PRE TURBO.

Cody is the post turbo still installed? if so maybe you can install your pre turbo gauge and give us some good numbers for temp drop between pre and post!

Yes Tim, it still is. I was planning on doing just that. Holidays and all, I haven't had much time for the truck. But I'll definately do that.

Please do that when you can, RD. After signing on here, I'm getting my arm twisted a lot to move mine Pre turbo.
