72 Lincon 460/C-6 into 86 F250

Just bought a 72 Lincon 460 and C-6 tranny to replace the blown 460 and worn out C-6 tranny in my 86 F250 4X4.

Hope I made a good move, can anyone tell me if they will just bolt up or will I have to start modifying things.

Thanks

as long as you use the flywheel from the 72 you will be ok there ,the motors are balanced differently between the years, also i believe you are going to use your tail section from the 86 c-6 so you can bolt your transfer case up.

The tail shafts are different from a 4X4 to a 2WD C-6, you have to gut the transmission to swap the shafts.
