won't shift out of park

my dads 2000 f-250 superduty will not shift out of park, he replaced the brake switch that controls the shifter when you step on the brake but it still won't work. does anyone have any other ideas? thanks in advance

I would check all the fuse's. if they are good will need to find the solenoid on the steering column and test for power and ground with the brakes applied.

Sounds like the theft interlock is just a little jammed.

When the key is on, grab the steering wheel and turn it left and right. That should free the interlock.

One of your fuses is blown. Not sure which one though. Happened to me on an E-250. Good luck!

yup, I've worked those problems before.
