New BakFlip G2 Installed

Friday I recieved a Bak Industries "G2 BakFlip" bed cover for my rig. So, I thought I would share some thoughts on the cover.

So far, the cover has been great. It works flawlessly and doesn't take away from the looks of my rig. Most don't even know its back there. I've had other folding covers on my trucks but this is by far my favoritte this far. It mounts FLUSH for a clean look, has drainage holes for water buidup in the rails, and is a VERY simple install. The cover folds up all the way to the window for COMPLETE access to your bed.

For those of you comtemplating a bed cover that has dual purposes, this is truly it. It can be removed easily in 2 minutes from the vehicle and reinstalled just as quick. It allows for use of a gooseneck/fifth wheel hitch and you can even throw your fourwheeler back there and not have to worry about what to do with your bed cover. I ran the truck through the carwash and I am pleased to inform you that it did very well compared to my extang trifecta that I had been running. There was VERY little water. The price isn't bad at all. Priced very competatively with it's competitors Fold a Cover and the like.

I'll second Jesse's comments on the BakFlip. I've had mine on my '06 Lariat Supercab for about 3 weeks now. Looks great. Kept bed very dry in recent rains. Today I needed to haul a pallet of fence pickets so I simply folded the lift all the way to the rear window, held it in place with the designed supports and loaded the truck easily with a forklift. After unloading, I washed out the bed and folded the cover back in place. Worked like a dream! And it looks great too. I found my on the web from Auto Accesories Garage in IL at $636.70 w/free shipping.

I like it although I'd be somewhat scared of it ripping apart after little while.

Cool I got a quote of 750 installed or 687 from truck add ons.One shop locally said they had trouble but I think it was the gen1 version. They suggested a tri-fold but don't like the look as much

I got mine from www.autoaccessoriesgarage.com for $635 and free shipping. Their website has them starting at $539. Took mine to a buddy who owns a tire shop and one of his employees did the install for about $50. I found cheaper deals later. it's worth doing some Google research for Bak Flip, folding tonneau covers, etc. unless you have an after market company like Truck Add Ons that you regularly deal with. Even then I'd seek the lowest price and ask if they'll match it.
