2005 4.6 upgrade questions

Ok i am a new user and hope there are a few that can help me with some questions about my truck. Right now I have replaced the factory air intake with the KN 77 series cold air. Just put on a Edge evolution programmer and the truck runs well. My next step will be to take out the belt driven fan and replace it with a electric one. What are other options for more HP and MPG I have looked and some 4.6L 2V mustang heads would those work? I think that I have a DOHC but i am not sure? Headers will come ceramic is expensive. Any ideas or help with the questions would be so appreciated Thank you for your time.....

Welcome to the forum.
You the heads are the same stock. I wouldn't go too crazy with the heads, because you will be moving the powerband up in the rpms and losing valuable torque to pull that heavy truck around.
Lower rearend gears like 4.10's would be my next step. You have a SOHC. 1 cam per head. DOHC uses 2 cams per head.

with my truck the simple things ive done have helped alot .. flow 40 duals and the switch to mobile one synthetic was huge ... I never thought the oil would make any real change to my engine and throttle responce but it did. Im interested in doing the fan swap for mine but im a little worried because I already run too many electronics in my truck. Ive also switched to k&n oil / air filters. The next thing im going to try is to put new oil in the rear end and transmission oils. Im thinking royal purple it claims that you can gain gas mileage, and that it lowers the temp that your engine and drive train run at by a few degrees (witch translates to less friction = less heat)

You will gain a few hp in the upper rpm range. I really saw no difference in them on my Mustang except it didn't charge good at an idle, but these trucks have a much better alternator than the Stang does. You may get 5 to 10hp @ 5000rpm.
Here is a link to the e-fan install and dyno results. It is on a newer truck, but the gains should be about the same.https://www.ford-trucks.com/article/...c_Fan_Kit.html

LXMAN1 the underpulley not a big expense no big deal what about the camshaft and supercahrger. Kenne bell stated they make one for a 2v 4.6L mustang would this work for my truck? Thanks for the recomendation on the fan kit it is about $150 less then the one i was looking at in jegs. I hope to do the fan kit and underpulleys in Feb and March

I think allen superchargers is the only roots type for our trucks, but they only show them for up to 2003. You might contact them. http://www.allen-superchargers.com/f150/99-03.html

you are right I have emailed them but, I called kenne Bell yesterday and was told that my truck would not work with current heads so I asked about the mustang heads the guy from kenne bell said it is possible. That's not worth it to me everything I have done so far has not in my opinion messed with the reliabilty of the truck. So i am doing the EFans underpulleys next. I looked at the allen superchager web page man i am not sure 75hp is worth 4 grand and after reading the installtion manual it would not work with my edge tuner or headers
