Weekendwarrior,

The Ex has a 44 gallon tank in it.......LOL...just messing with ya

How heavy of a trailer are you pulling? I read that you flipped your axles, how much higher did the hauler go up?? Does it tow any different?

Lots of questions, I am getting ready to flip the axles on my hauler...

My Toy Hauler ways 13,000 pounds. We ordered the Toy Hauler with flipped axles but from a side to side comparison about 8 inches taller than a non flipped Toy Hauler. I have a horrible problem with sway but I hope my new Equalizer hitch will fix that but I don't know yet because the first trip we were going to take it out on we got into a car wreck. But we had a TT before this and it came with it normal and towed great and then we fliped the axles and it tows a little worst but then we added a sway bar and all was good.

Thats bad for your emissions system, you get raw fuel in your charcoal canister and can get it up into lines with valves that are only meant to move fumes not liquid. Kinda frowned upon, but once or twice probably wont kill you if your leaving on a trip immediatly. I woulndt exactly suggest it though.

That hitch definitely looks strong. However, I am just curious Is that hitch welded to the frame? I was wondering because I thought that the hitch needed to be able to flex or it may damage the frame.

The eckhart hitch is indeed welded to the frame...well it's a bit of both. They acutally weld part of the hitch to the frame and leave the angle iron (part of the original hitch) that's bolted onto the excursion frame...and weld their hitch to this as well. Hopefully that just made sense....

We just had a hitch from Eckharts installed in March of 2008. So far I've been real happy with the unit.
