The trailer hitch is rated for 14,000 not the Receiver that is unlimited weight . The reason why its so tall is because we got out Toy Hauler with flipped axles and made it realy high so it would not sit level and now it does

It seems you called eckhart back in may and they told you 20,000 lbs, im sure thats with a weight distributing set.
http://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/sh...1&postcount=28

Doing some searching i have seen multiple refferences to 15,000lbs for the eckhart hitches, wonder what the difference is, or if the X is really 15,000 also?

some needs to give a raise to the welder thats able to lay the bead that will hold that hitch together,l know what I paid for my simple 4" drop hitch so a my 22" car trailer was level, and thats rated at 12K, to be able to handle 15K with a lever that size on it...impressive

Durn nice that you live in California where they are. I called them a while back and asked if they could sell one and let a local shop put it in, but they said no way. I drool to get one of those.

By the way, it is a 44 gallon tank See the pdf at the link below.

Just wondering why an X would only be rated @ 20,000 and an F350 only be rated @ 15,000. Makes no sense to me.

Well I cant Explane that. I think that they are talking about the Hitch its self and not the truck. I dont know why they wount tell me the Exact weight every time I asked they said unlimted.

Hook the space shuttle to your truck and pull it out of the hanger in 4LO with some 6.13 gears and when it tears off the back of the truck go back and be like WTF?!?!?!?

Ya, pulling something to heavy, can we say OH SNAP. Nothing better then seeing axle's snapping under a heavy load as long as i'm not fronting the bill. Let alone stopping once you did get it moving LOL

I'd imagine as longa s the hitch didnt tear off teh frame they would say the hitch was fine and held up to the weight, they arent responsible for the truck, just the hitch itself and its mounting.
