Instrument Cluster

Hello all,
I was wondering if I could put the instrument panel from a '94 Lightning in my '94 F150. I have 3.55 gears and I'm not sure what rear end the '94 lightning has. I like the fact that the lightning's panel has a tach and white faced gauges. Would the rear end gears have to match up in order for the switch to be possible?

Thanks

The switch is possible but why only use the Lightning guage panel? They do make white face kits for the 92-96 regular trucks if I'm not mistaken.

Thanks for the reply...

I'll check into some of those aftermarket white faced gauges. I've seen a few and they all have either blue or red numbers on the white background. I kind of like the black on white. Either way, if I can't come across the cluster from a lightning, I'll probably have to go aftermarket.

Thanks!

If you've got the Vehicle Speed Sensor located in the diff housing (and I'm pretty sure you do) then the speedo looks at the ring gear rotation and ignores differences in ratio (the Gen I Lightnings were geared 4.11.) You will have to reprogram your module to accomodate your tire diameter if it's different from the Lightning's

If you want to add a tach, just find a cluster with one in the salvage yard and it drops right in!
