Kia Sportage, opinions?

I saw a Sportage yesterday. Looked about the same size as my Bronco II.
Anyone have any experience with them?

Earlier ones had many mechanical problems, like the front wheels falling off due to poor front bearings. Nearly killed a friend of mine. maybe the later ones are better.

My wife's daughter has a 01 Sportage with 82,000 miles that has had a LOT OF PROBLEMS. Plus the soft back tops are poorly made and rip easily. I wouldn't buy one. In fact, today I'm getting it inspected so we can put it on the lemon lot here on base to sell it. Daughter won't even drive it anymore.

I don't think I would even admit to knowing anyone who owned one. That's just one man's opinion, you understand.
