79351XLT is starting off with a positive reputation.
Aussie converted 73 - 80 F100 to big block??

Hi everyone, I am looking at converting the F100 to a Big Block (460) and auto(C6) and woudl ike to chat to anyone that has done this conversion or know of someone that can help me out (I am located in Melbourne)

The front section of your truck will be the same as the US ones (with regards to mounts etc.) that were fitted with the 335 V8 (351M and 400).

I do know one user that has done it in Oz - I will see if I can get him

lostin90s is starting off with a positive reputation.
If you find the motor& tranny . the engine mounts r the only major thing you have to change if remember right. I used to put 460in every thing 25 yrs ago. Now it just a fog . Suck to get old.

Guys, Thanks for the information!
I will be starting the hunt for a decent 460 in the new year, and re-co and install after that, I will keep you informed of how it goes, this is my first F100 modification so I am a little nervous and want to get it right it is such a good truck I would hate to botch it up!

P.S. is there any such thing as a Bad big block or a range of engines that are better than others in relation to the 460??? I have heard to steer clear of the EFI later blocks???

Make sure you check out the 460 forum!

I imagine you will be running it on LPG so whether it is EFI or carb will make little difference from a power point of view....
