Hey guys, I should have started with you guys but I'm trying to find out if I have the original motor to my truck. can anyone tell me where it is on the motor where I can locate it and it is the vin number on that or am I identifying in it some other way.
Factory remans have a tag that says they were rebuilt. But im sure if you had one you;d have noticed that lol. Ive never looked but I believe its on the drivers side, either by the motor mount like mudguts said or below the head.
That, im not sure about. If these are anything like classic muscle cars, there must be a source somewhere. Maybe contact a dealership and give them the vin#? Or go to one of the online vin runners and see if it says.
As far as I know there is no way to tell if the engine block c/n is the original one for the truck. There may be a database that matches block c/n with vehicle VIN, but I doubt it's public. Ford dealer may be able to look it up for you. VIN has a code it it to tell you which engine it was equipped with, but nothing to match it up with a specific block.
