My coolant is green, too.

That truck seems a good candidate for that number of miles, though. If it was a construction truck that saw tons of highway miles between Iowa and Texas, that's pretty low wear and tear on the drivetrain.

Glad to see it made it that long. Truck looks to be in pretty good shape overall for the mileage.

The overflow tank shows what happens when you don't change your antifreeze. Wonder what the coolant passages look like?

The coolant in the tank is Zerex G-O5 its a Dark Yellow color. That is now standard coolant for Ford. MY guess is the cooling system was serviced and flushed by a dealer with G-05.

Mine is the color of Mountain Dew...that looks like it's rust stained to me. Maybe it's just me.

303,000 and 345,000 miles, and how many miles do you get out of a diesel?

i have a question. when you see the new ford pickup commercials touting them having the longest lasting trucks on the road, why do they show brand new vehicles? why not get somebody like these owners to do the talking for them? and not just for V10 powered trucks, but any ford truck with extended miles. these 2 trucks are exceptional examples of fords great work, which of course they fail to promote. just my 2 cents. matt

I have thought the same thing, Show the old truck and owner talking to a new owner of a new truck. That would tell the story!

Yes and worked hard! I have had well over 300K on most of my diesels before i got rid of them. With a few of them over 400K
That is way it is so impressive to see a gas motor do it! And the thruck that had 345K had a 5th wheel hitch in it so you know it spent most of it life towing!

What kills me is the asking price on the 345,000 mile truck. Buy it now for $10K? What a joke, I bought a 2000 EX with 72000 miles, everything but leather 4x4 for $9500. Why oh why would you pay the same price for a truck with 345k on it. I understand that thats not exactly an apples to apples comparison because of SUV vs pickup, but some owners just think they have a gold mine disguised as a used truck.
