Can't find 460 Timing Cover

I have been trying to replace a 460 timing cover for months now with no luck. The markings on it say DIJE-8059 AA, it is cast iron and fits on an OMC 460 marine engine. Does anyone know what engine this part came from? All the replacement 460 timing covers I found are indented on the front where the water pump mounts but mine is flat. any help would be great!

Thats a marine only cover as I recall, the only place to get it is a dealer that services marine engines as I recall.

What's weird is that it has the Ford logo cast on it. I guess Ford made these just for OMC. Btw it says DIJE-6059 AA and I have included a pic.

the only cast iron one used in fords was the 79 and later medium duty trucks like the F700s and those were on 370s and 429 industrial truck engines.
Your casting number is a 71 revision and is totally different.
You might TRY a ford dealer but yeah it was probably made by ford for OMC so most likely scenerio is to find a marine outlet that handles them.

Edit, sent you a email with the name of a man that might be able to help you on this though as he is really sharp on marine use 460s, mainly jet boat stuff but he is the only one I can think of off the top of my head.

Thanks! I will give him a call. Who would have thought that this part was going to be so hard to find.

Your not going to believe this but I just went out to the garage and put my hand right on it. Same cast numbers as yours. Has been dipped and painted ford blue(por-15 engine paint) and has a new front seal installed. Cant believe I've kept it for 5 years sitting around. Must have been cause it was painted

P.S. Put some pics in my gallery of timing cover.

So are you looking to get rid of it being that it is taking up so much space? Or perhaps remember where you got one.

It was on the engine when I took it apart to build up. Look like the same as you have?? Guess it should be.same numbers. I wouldn't have a problem with letting it go. P.S. What was the matter with yours?

There is a hole where the dipstick goes through that was causing water to pour into the oil pan. That was a nice bill when it wouldn't start back up in the middle of the bay. Towing on water is a bit more than towing on land.

OUCH!!! My cover has a plug in the dipstick hole on the cover. Sure it's just pressed in though. Well, if you want to work sumthing out, let me know.

That's good since my engine doesn't use the dipstick through the timing cover. I am definately interested, just let me know what you think you'd want for it.
